Niekerk is part of the Christian Reformed Faith in North America, which has a rich tradition of thoughtful theology, relevant Biblical wisdom, and worldwide service. The congregation of Niekerk was organized on September 25, 1866. The congregation decided to name the church Niekerk which means "New Church" in Dutch since this was the native language of the founders of the church. Niekerk has a rich history which as a church we are thankful for because it has brought us to where we are today.
- We call ourselves Christian because we believe, by the grace of God, that Jesus Christ is our personal Savior and Lord, and our only comfort in this life and the life to come.
- We believe the Bible is the word of God.
- We're called Reformed because we grow on a branch of the church tree that emerged from the Protestant Reformation in the sixteenth-century. We are always reforming, always having to be reformed, always having to be made new.
- We're a church, a community, that is given its origin, purpose, and hope in being part of the faithful body of Christ in the world.
